Brushing with bar soap...Natural Cavity cure?

  1. How awesome of you to do a video on this! I actually found you while I was reading comments on the Mint & Chili blog where I had previously commented. :) How neat! So I had to come watch your vid. I want to follow you, but I can't seem to find your follow button...

I have not got to try the soap yet because I ended up ordering mine off line and plan to brush with it. I bought Olivella off Amazon for around $5. What price did you pay for your soap? I'd be interested in going for a bar that's cheaper. I guess I'm always looking for the best deal. I haven't received my soap in the mail yet though, but will be happy to update you on how it goes for me too! Maybe we can update each other and you will continue to let us know your progress? That would be amazing.

I seem to have been experiencing similar issues as you. I hadn't ever had teeth problems in the past, but last Nov. I had a wisdom break! I spent SOO many days in the dentist's office and to make a long story short, I paid him in full, he only did half my root canal, only temporarily filled 3 teeth and then said "Oh. Oopps you're all out of insurance now. You should come back in 5 weeks to have those teeth "permanantly" filled. What?! Pretty much he milked my $ and insurance. He also chipped my other tooth while pulling my wisdom! It began giving me trouble lately as well as all 3 fillings! I had the fillings done about 3 months ago. I have finally decided to get serious and just try the soap! I ordered olive soap too, called "Olivella." Seems like good stuff. I don't know how well it will taste, but I liked the ingredients. That's funny that you chose to stay away from Dr. Bronners too because of the ingredients like citric acid! I went to purchase it first the other day and once I read the ingredients I though 'there is no way I am paying THAT high of a price when it still has harmful ingredients!' Then I went with the olivella. :) It kind of seems pointless to use citric acid and glycerin in a product that's supposed to be "better than toothpaste". I thought the point was TOOTH SOAP, NOT PASTE. I don't think I'll ever try Bronners. I just hope Olivella works Ok.

PS. How bad is the taste? I'm really nervous about that part, but I've gone a week now without toothpaste and I'm dedicated at this point, so no matter what it tastes like, I'm going to suck it up and be a trooper :). I wanted to quit toothpaste immediately after I got desperate lately. It has been hard because somedays I just want to squirt out the paste and be done with it. :) I have been using chunks of my aloe vera plant (since it's so good for you. it's antibacterial, anti fungal and supposed to have somewhat good dental benefits. I eat it too!) and then rinsing with peroxide to really kill the bacteria since my mouth doesn't feel super clean using only aloe. I am pretty excited about this better teeth journey! I am amazed at how many people say their cavities healed. I'm hoping for something big though. I'm hoping these fillings will just not be needed and my teeth will remineralize in a good period of time using soap. :)

Well, I wish you the best in your dental health journey! I cannot wait to see more updates from you. I will have to bookmark your page until I find your follow button. Best of luck!

    Warm wishes,
    Kendra

    1. Hey!
I just added the follow me button.
I use Kiss My Face which was around 2 bucks I think, but regardless, 5 bucks is still a good deal, and a bar lasts forever!

Wow that is crazy about your teeth! You should look into seeing if you have a malpractice case.

I am not sure if it will help in your situation (chipped tooth, half filled tooth) but it sounds like it probably would! I personally only have a handful of fillings from a small amount of cavities I had in my childhood. So I don't know much about fillings and absolutely nothing about root canals.

The taste is not bad at all..it does taste a little "soapey" but I don't find it unappealing. Of course it is not going to taste minty, but who cares about that!
